The Bridge Trilogy by William Gibson
When not reading the three Dick novels, I was reading these three books by William Gibson. They're Science Fiction, but less so than most. The first was published in 1992, and is set in 2006. Gibson imagined a 2006 that was a lot more Dystopian than 2006 turned out to be, but a lot of his predictions were fairly accurate. Technology has kept evolving/improving at an exponential pace. Celebrity/pop/reality-tv culture has become even Uglier as its popularity has Exploded: "Famous-For-Being-Famous" people rule the airwaves and the minds of everyday people.
Over the last two months, Gibson has become one of my favorite writers. Sadly, also over the last two months, I've read 50% of his entire output. And I'm worried that the remaining 50% is not as good. Hence, the part of my life where I get to read amazing books by William Gibson might now be part of My History.

The media culture is dominated by Reality TV and its ordinary-but-on-TV people, whose daily non-doings are followed obsessively by websites and documentarians and paparazzi photographers, with suicides and/or murders of these nonstars featuring as superfun breathlessly-reported primetime news stories on a nightly basis.

[NOTE: Gibson was making up this world back in 1992--just before MTV aired Season 1 of The Real World]
